The fourth edition of the Medieval Festival “Kruna Bosne” has successfully concluded in Cazin after three days filled with art, science, literature, film, music, and programmes that brought the history of medieval Bosnia closer to audiences of all generations.
Over the course of three days, the festival offered a diverse programme that, through various artistic and cultural forms, created space for dialogue about the history, identity, and rich heritage of medieval Bosnia. From exhibitions and concerts to book presentations, lectures, medieval games for children, and film screenings, the festival once again demonstrated the importance of bringing cultural and historical heritage closer to contemporary audiences in diverse and creative ways.
The final day of the festival began at Ostrožac Fortress, with the opening of the exhibition “Prayers” by artist Adis Elias Fejzić. Set within one of the most significant medieval sites in this part of Bosnia, contemporary art created a meaningful connection between the past and the present – one of the festival’s central ideas.
The festival was officially concluded with a screening of the film “The Bosnian Knight” at the Old Town of Ostrožac. Holding the screening at this historic site provided a symbolic conclusion to a festival dedicated to medieval Bosnia and its heritage, taking the audience back to the time of Bosnian rulers, knights, and fortresses.
We are particularly pleased that this year’s Medieval Festival “Kruna Bosne” brought together a large number of visitors and attracted audiences of different generations. Programmes designed for children and young people, such as the medieval games, were especially well received, alongside the events dedicated to science, history, and art.
We would like to thank all the authors, artists, lecturers, participants, partners, collaborators, and visitors who contributed to and became part of this year’s “Kruna Bosne”.
The Medieval Festival “Kruna Bosne” was organised by the Museum of the Bosnian Kingdom, with the support of the City of Cazin and the Cazin Centre for Culture and Tourism.
Although this year’s “Kruna Bosne” has come to an end, the story we are building together continues. With new ideas, programmes, and encounters ahead, we look forward to the next edition of the festival and to another opportunity to explore, preserve, and present the rich heritage of medieval Bosnia together.
