From August 3–5, 2026, Cazin will once again become a meeting place of history, culture, and art through the Medieval Festival “Crown of Bosnia”, organized by the Museum of the Bosnian Kingdom, with the support of the City of Cazin and the Cazin Center for Culture and Tourism. Over the course of three festival days, visitors will enjoy a diverse program that brings together history, cultural heritage, contemporary art, film, music, and academic discourse, celebrating the rich legacy of medieval Bosnia.

The festival opens on August 3 with the exhibition “Figure. Word. Symbol.”, featuring works by Elma Čaušević Mujezinović, Maja Matašin, and Danis Lan Fejzić. The exhibition will open at 7:30 PM at the Old Town Hall in Cazin, followed by a concert by the Fugato Ensemble at 8:00 PM in the city pavilion.

On August 4, the program begins with the presentation of the book “Bosnia and the Roman Curia in the Middle Ages” by Dr. Dženan Dautović, with Dr. Nedim Rabić, Dr. Adis Zilić, and Enes Škrgo participating as speakers and presenters. The event will take place at 6:00 PM in the City Hall. At 7:00 PM, children will have the opportunity to experience medieval knight games, organized by Rusag, on the city square. The evening continues with the screening of the AI-generated film “Queen Mother Katarina Kosača-Kotromanić” by Nataša Bartula Hébert at 8:00 PM in the Cultural Center Cinema Hall.

The festival concludes on August 5 with the lecture “The Identity of Bosnia” by Vera Kržišnik Bukić, beginning at 5:00 PM in the City Hall of Cazin. At 7:00 PM, the exhibition “Prayers” by Adis Elias Fejzić will open at the Ostrožac Fortress, followed by the closing screening of the film “The Bosnian Knight” at 8:30 PM in the historic setting of the Old Town of Ostrožac.
