The latest addition to the Memento library of Dram radosti publishing house from Travnik, the book Bosnia and the Roman Curia in the Middle Ages by Dr. Dženan Dautović, represents an exceptionally valuable contribution to Bosnian medieval studies, as “a monographic study of a highly important area of Bosnian history that has not previously been systematically explored.”
Bosnia and the Roman Curia in the Middle Ages is the first work to bring together, in one volume, all the stages of Bosnian-Papal relations.
This synthetic study, comprising five chapters and an introductory section, covers almost a thousand years of history, from Late Antiquity to the mid-15th century.
Dr. Dautović is primarily concerned with the political dimension of the relationship between the medieval Papacy and Bosnia, while religion, theology, and their respective discourses are examined only as the means through which diplomatic relations between the Bosnian and Papal courts were conducted.
At the Medieval Festival “Kruna Bosne” in Cazin, on 4 August 2026, the book was presented in the presence of the author by historians and medievalists Prof. Dr. Adis Zilić and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nedim Rabić, together with Enes Škrgo, Editor-in-Chief of Dram radosti.
